Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, (BSMRSTU) Gopalganj, Vice-Chancellor Prof AQM Mahbub and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Shamsul Alam have resigned from their posts.
They were forced to resign on Tuesday afternoon under pressure from students.
Md Mahbubul Alam, deputy director of the university's public relations department, said: "The VC and pro-VC have resigned showing their inability to perform their duties citing personal reasons.”
“They submitted their resignation to the president," he added.
When the protest started, many including the VC left the campus. They came to the campus on Tuesday. Later, the students demanded their resignation.
