The protesters, under the banner Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, have called for banning journalists from the National Press Club and overall media space for inciting violence against students and the public during the month-long quota movement.

The students released a list of 51 journalists in a statement on Saturday. They submitted the statement to the authorities of the press club.

The statement said action should be taken against traitor journalists like Farida Yasmin, Shyamal Dutta, and their associates, who incited violence against students and the public.

The statement, signed by coordinators of the movement including Abdul Quader and Abdul Hannan Masud, also said that the government is urged to take legal action against the journalists listed.

"We believe that these individuals have engaged in activities under the guise of journalism that are against national interests and the state. The students are now involved in the task of state reform. To prevent these national enemies from causing further harm by exploiting the name of the Press Club, we request their expulsion and a ban on their participation in journalism," the statement read.
