State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu said the government is considering selling Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products in permanent shops to ease the sufferings of TCB card holders.
“A daily wage earner comes to collect his TCB products and spends his whole day's working hours. As a result, he lost Tk700 to Tk800 from his income,” he said this at Nagarpur Upazila Parishad Complex in Tangail on Friday afternoon.
"TCB plays a crucial role in meeting the demand for essential goods for underprivileged people. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established TCB in 1972 to play a significant role in meeting the demand for daily necessities of the people of this country. Especially the products that are not produced in our country have to be imported from abroad. TCB was created to import and export goods,” he added.
“Various products are being distributed among 10 million families across the country through TCB every month,” he further said.
Six essential food items are being sold to 10 million families through TCB during Ramadan.
