The body of an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has been recovered from the banks of the Ichamati River on the Hardaha border in Satkhira.
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered the body after being informed by the locals.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Riaz Uddin, 30. He was serving in the Sobaham camp.
On Thursday night, a boat carrying a BSF patrol team sank during a storm.
At that time, BSF member Mohammad Riaz Uddin was reported missing. The other members of the BSF patrol team managed to swim ashore.
Following a meeting between Shakhra BGB BOP in-Charge Naib Subedar Anisur Rahman and Indian 85 BSF Commandant Anurag Moni, the body was returned to BSF.
Satkhira 17 BGB Captain Lt Col Sanbir Hasan Majumder said that his body was found in Indian waters in the morning. Although the locals said the body was found on the Bangladesh side.
