Ten people, including women and children, allegedly pushed into Bangladesh by India's Border Security Force (BSF) through the Benapole border in Jessore's Sharsha upazila, are currently stranded at the border zero line.

The group has been staying at the Bombay Tala field in Sadipur village along the Benapole border since late Monday night, according to border authorities.

Sources at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said the individuals were pushed into the Sadipur border area through a gate in the barbed-wire fence. Members of a patrol team from the Jessore 49 BGB Battalion intercepted them after learning of the incident and prevented them from entering further into Bangladesh.

Confirming the matter, Lt Col Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, commander of the Jessore 49 BGB Battalion, said the 10 individuals remain at the India-Bangladesh zero line in Sadipur.

"A letter has been sent to the BSF regarding the matter, and a flag meeting between the BGB and BSF has been scheduled for around 10am to resolve the issue," he said.
