Miscreants beat Bogra Jubo League leader

Miscreants beat Sadar Union member and Jubo League leader Sultan Mahmud in Dhunat upazila of Bogra.

The attack took place in Phalpatti area of Dhunat Bazar on Tuesday afternoon. He has been admitted to Dhunat Upazila Health Complex.

Dhunat police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Saikat Hasan said that no case was filed till evening.

According to police and relatives, Sultan Mahmud, the injured Jubo League leader, is the son of Siraj Pramanik from Pardhunat village in Dhunat upazila. He serves as a member of Ward-2 in Dhunat Sadar Union.

Around 3:30pm on Tuesday, Mahmud received a call on his mobile phone requesting an urgent meeting. He went to the Phalpatti area of Dhunat Bazar, where he was attacked by a group of 10-12 miscreants. They physically assaulted him on the streets.

Upon hearing Mahmud's cries, locals intervened, causing the attackers to flee. Subsequently, Mahmud was taken to Dhunat Upazila Health Complex. Sultan Mahmud stated that the attack was a result of previous disagreements related to politics and elections.
