Hefazat-e-Islam has postponed its grand rally scheduled for Sunday in Dhaka.
Hefazat-e-Islam Publicity Affairs Secretary Mufti Kifayatullah Azhari on Tuesday said the policymaking forum postponed the rally considering the “current situation of the country.”
Hefazat said the new date will be announced shortly.
Earlier, Hefazat-e-Islam organized a protest rally on December 8 at the north gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque demanding the release of its jailed leaders and activists along with the withdrawal of the “false cases” filed over its activists since 2013.
