The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of gold by Tk1,750 per bhori after increasing it to a record amount a week ago.
As a result, the new price of a 22-carat gold will be Tk108,125 per bhori, according to a press release issued on Wednesday signed by MA Hannan Azad, Chairman of Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bajus.
According to Bajus, the price of acidic gold has reduced in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation.
The new prices will be effective from Thursday, said the release.
Apart from this, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk103,225, 18-carat gold fixed at a price of Tk88,471 and the price of traditional method has been fixed at 73,716.
Earlier on November 29, the price of 22-carat gold hit Tk1,09,875 per bhori, the highest in the history of Bangladesh.
The price of gold increased four times in this month of November.
