Gold prices in Bangladesh have been cut again, just a day after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised them.
The new prices took effect from 10am Friday, following a decline in the price of refined or pure gold.
The price of 22-carat hallmarked gold has been set at Tk20,115 per gram, down Tk185 from Tk20,300. This means a reduction of around Tk2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Including VAT, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has fallen from Tk236,779 to Tk234,621.
The new rates were set at a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Friday morning, considering the decline in refined gold prices and the overall market situation.
New gold prices
- 22-carat: Tk20,115 per gram
- 21-carat: Tk19,210 per gram
- 18-carat: Tk16,495 per gram
