To compete in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), Bangladesh government is integrating drones, 3D printers, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) into 300 “School of Future and Frontier Technology Institutes” established across the country's district, upazila and village level.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak announced it during the inauguration of the “Sixth Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2023” at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University on Friday.
"To ensure that our country's youth are adept in modern technology and can lead globally, we are incorporating these technologies into the schools ahead of the upcoming robot olympiad," the state minister said.
“As time transitions to the future, robots are no longer luxury items; they have become as essential as smartphones,” he added.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman said: "Today's students will lead a 'Smart Bangladesh' with their intelligence.”
