Opposition Leader in the House Raushan Ershad on Thursday greeted and congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the latter’s 76th birthday.
In a message, Raushan said Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina has established herself as one of the best stateswomen not only in the country but in the world with her dynamic leadership, wisdom, humanitarian values and prudence.
Raushan said the prime minister has established a dignified position for Bangalis through her leadership in periods of crises.
Her non-communal, liberal, progressive and democratic mindset has made her recognizable as a modern and advanced stateswoman, she said.
Being imbued with the Liberation War’s spirit, the prime minister devotes herself to building a “Sonar Bangla” as dreamt by Bangabandhu, she said.
Noting the premier's long political career was not a bed of roses, the opposition leader said Sheikh Hasina is going ahead to take the country to its desired destination of being a developed nation through her dedication, wisdom, courage, organizational capacity and experience, against all odds and conspiracies.
She wished the prime minister sound health, a long life and continuous success.
The opposition leader prayed to Allah so that the premier could rid the country of corruption, terrorism, hunger and poverty and establish good governance and social justice and ensure a better living standard for the people.
