A Bangladesh cricket team fan has served the Bangladesh Cricket Board a legal notice demanding the reversal of the board’s decision to exclude opener Tamim Iqbal from the World Cup squad and removal of Chandika Hathurusingha as head coach of the team.

Supreme Court lawyer Rasel Al Mamun sent the notice to the BCB on Wednesday on behalf of Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Group General Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, urging necessary steps within seven days.

The notice was sent to the BCB president, chief executive officer and chief selector.

Former Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal on Wednesday revealed his intent to divulge the complete details surrounding his exclusion from the World Cup squad, after the Bangladesh team's departure for India in the afternoon.

In a Facebook post, Tamim said: "I will convey crucial information via a video message concerning what has happened in the past few days, after the departure of the Bangladesh national team for India."

Earlier on Tuesday, the BCB announced a 15-member squad, to be led by Shakib Al Hasan and excluding Tamim Iqbal, for the upcoming World Cup in India.

Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu explained to the media why Tamim had been excluded from the squad for the World Cup in India citing injury concerns.
