Ahead of the 12th national parliament election, Dhaka Tribune is going to launch a brand new TV show in association with the International Republican Institute (IRI).
Eight television debates will take place from eight divisions of Bangladesh, and they will be telecast on Channel 24.
Lawmakers of eight constituencies and their opponents, possible candidates from opposition parties, will participate in the debates.
A coordination meeting on the debate series was held at the Channel 24 office on Tuesday morning. Channel 24 Chief Executive Tarun Chakravarty Phizzo, Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan, Channel 24 Executive Director Talat Mamun, Dhaka Tribune Executive Editor Reaz Ahmad, Head of Sales and Marketing of Channel 24 Burhan Uddin Nayan, and Dhaka Tribune Manager (Brand and Marketing) Rafsan Salekeen, among others, were present.
The meeting was successfully completed along with a studio visit to Channel 24, where the TV debate will be recorded.
The eight episodes of the debate are set to be telecast from October to November. Dhaka Tribune Executive Editor Reaz Ahmad will host the show.
