A Workshop on International Conference on Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh (WICBBDB 2023) was held at the UIU campus in Dhaka on Monday.
The workshop was poised to be an enriching platform that fosters the professional growth of aspiring researchers across a diverse array of research domains, says a press release issued on Tuesday.
The objective was to provide an avenue for dedicated and young researchers to enhance their expertise, broaden their knowledge, and refine their skills.
The papers have been submitted through CMT System. Each paper was then reviewed by the university’s expert reviewers and finally 33 papers have been accepted for presentation in six technical sessions.
Among those, three papers received Best Paper Awards. Other than technical sessions, there were also one keynote talk and three invited talks.
Faculty members, officials, academicians, researchers and other distinguished guests from various universities and institutions in the home and abroad were present in the inaugural ceremony where Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice chancellor (in-charge) of UIU, was the chief guest.
The welcome address was made by Prof Dr AKM Muzahidul Islam, the general chair of WICBBDB 2023.
A speech was also made by Prof Dr Mohammad Shahriar Rahman, general co-chair of the workshop.
The technical details were presented by Assistant Prof Mahtab Uddin, the TPC Chair.
Associate Prof Dr Md Saddam Hossain served as the organizing chair, whereas Md Tarek Hasan and Nabila Sabrin Sworna served as TPC co-chair and Secretariat, respectively in this workshop.
The speakers addressed that the research and technological development can ensure sustainable development of a nation.
To achieve Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla and to transform Digital Bangladesh to Smart Bangladesh it is important that country like Bangladesh prioritizes technology innovation, and focus research on the four pillars of Smart Bangladesh, namely Smart Citizen, Smart Society, Smart Economy and Smart Government.
