An elderly person was killed in a landslide in Cox's Bazar’s Jhelongjha union around on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Azam, 70.
Cox's Bazar Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said: "A hill collapsed when Azam was constructing his house by razing it at night. Later, while removing soil from the landslide, Azam was buried in the landslide again. Later, he was taken to a hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.”
Earlier on August 7, four people, including two Rohingyas, were killed and two others were injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Cox's Bazar.
