The state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to start selling essential items from Sunday to 10 million families, without sugar.
The August sales program will not include sugar, TCB said in a press release on Saturday.
Under the direction of the Ministry of Commerce, the process of selling edible oil and pulses at subsidized prices is going on among 10 million low-income beneficiary cardholder families.
Every month, cardholder families will receive 5kg of rice at a cost of Tk30 per kg.
Buyers can also purchase two liters of soybean oil at Tk100 per liter and lentils at Tk60 per kg.
Cardholders will be able to take rice and other products from the shops or designated places of distributors in their respective areas.
