Muslims all across Bangladesh on Thursday celebrated Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival, with religious solemnity and great enthusiasm.
In Dhaka, the main Eid congregation was held at the National Eidgah near the High Court Bhaban at 7:30am.
Eid congregation was also held at the historic Sholakia ground in Kishoreganj.
A total of five Eid congregations were held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The first Eid jamaat was held at 7am while the next four Jamaats will be held at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 10:45am respectively
In Khulna, like all across Bangladesh, the national flag was hoisted at sunrise in government, semi-government, private and autonomous buildings.

Various important roads of the metropolis have been decorated with Eid banners in both Bangla and Arabic.
The main Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at Khulna Town Jame Masjid at 8am.
In Bagerhat, Muslims offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the historic Sixty Dome Mosque amid heavy rains.
The first congregation was held at 7:30am, the second congregation was held at 8:10am and the third congregation at 9am.
In Dinajpur, the country's second-largest Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at Gor-E-Shahid Eidgah Maidan.
The organizing committee said over 200,000 Muslims offered Eid prayers in this congregation.
In Barisal, the Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held seeking peace and prosperity for Muslim Ummah.
The main Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at Hemayet Uddin Central Eidgah Maidan in Barishal city at 7am.
In Gopalganj, the holy Eid-ul-Azha prayers were held amid unfavourable weather conditions.

Due to that, the main congregation was held at the city's Court Mosque instead of central municipal Eidgah Maidan.
Imam Maulana Hafizur Rahman led the at 7:30am, and after that, the second Eid prayer was held at the same place at 8am.
In Rangpur, the district administration, Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RMP), Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and law enforcement agencies have taken adequate steps to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festivity.
The main Eid-ul-Azha congregations were held at the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center at 8am followed by a second Jamaat there at 9am due to drizzly weather.
Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th of Zil Hajj month of the Hizri calendar as Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), on this day, some 4,500 years ago, offered to sacrifice his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (AS), who willingly submitted to the will of his father to please Allah.

But the Almighty Allah in His benign mercy spared Hazrat Ismail (AS) and instead sent a ram to be sacrificed.
To commemorate this historic event, the Muslims across the country are offering prayers in congregations and sacrificing animals in the name of Almighty Allah.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages, greeting the Muslims in Bangladesh and all over the world on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha.
