Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Reazaul Karim Chowdhury on Wednesday announced his 3rd budget of Tk1887.28 crore for 2023-24 fiscal year providing detailed data on the city's past, present and future action plans.
Announcing the budget with the presence of the CCC ward councillors, officials and journalists at KB Abdus Sattar Auditorium, the mayor said that no new tax would be imposed in the budget.
The mayor also declared the revised budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year. The CCC budget for the previous fiscal year was Tk1176.28 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Reazaul Karim said Bangladesh is moving towards the goal to turn it as “Smart Bangladesh” by 2041.
“The foundation of this vision is smart citizen, smart society, smart economy and smart government. Most of the activities in CCC are now being done based on online. Gradually, all the administrative functions of the corporation will be brought under the digital system,” he added.
CCC Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Tohidul Islam presided over the budget session where CCC Secretary Khaled Mahmood, Chief Revenue Officer Nazrul Islam, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik and Additional Chief Accounts Officer Humayun Kabir, among others, were present on the occasion.
