Police recovered the body of a newborn boy wrapped in cloth from a dustbin on the campus of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The age of the newborn might be one day, said police.
The body was recovered from the dustbin next to an ATM booth on the campus, Shahbag police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Dipok Bala confirmed the news.
The police officer said that a young man named Sohel Rana spotted the baby in the dustbin and informed the police.
After receiving the news, the body was recovered and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
