A four-member probe body has been formed to investigate the derailment of Dhaka-bound Sonar Bangla Express after hitting a stationary freight train at Hasanpur Railway Station of Comilla on Sunday evening.
The probe body will be led by Divisional Transport Officer (Chittagong) Tarique Md Imran, an official of the divisional railway (Chittagong) said.
At least 20 people were injured in the collision between the passenger train and a stationary freight train on Sunday evening.
According to the Election Commission (EC) office, 12 EC officials are among the injured as they were returning to the capital by the train after attending a training session in Chittagong on the by-poll to Chittagong-8 constituency.
The EC office, however, confirmed that none of its officials was injured critically.
The train services on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Chittagong routes have, however, resumed at around 9pm after two and a half hours of the accident.
