YouTuber Ashraful Hossen Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom said he would provide all kinds of assistance to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to arrest Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan, an accused in a case filed over the murder of a Bangladesh Police officer.
He made the statement to journalists after leaving the DB headquarters on Saturday. He had gone there to seek assistance over a personal matter.
“I will provide all kinds of information or assistance that are needed on the Arav Khan issue as DB is investigating the matter. Even today (Saturday) we talked about the issue,” he said.
Hero Alom claimed that he was unaware of Arav Khan's involvement in the murder case and said: "I was not aware of the matter. I went to Dubai at Arav's request. For the purpose of the investigation, I will provide all the information I have about Arav. It is my civil duty to assist DB in arresting Arav if he is the suspect.”
“I will show up if I'm needed for an investigation,” Hero Alom added.
Hero Alom went to the DB headquarters reportedly to seek help on a personal matter on Saturday afternoon.
Alom entered the DB Office, on Minto Road in Dhaka, at around 2:30pm.
Hero Alom recently became embroiled in a controversy when he, along with cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and many other famous personalities, went to the opening of a jewellery shop in Dubai, UAE, apparently owned by Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan, an accused in a case filed over the murder of a Bangladesh Police officer.
Later, DB chief Harun-or-Rashid told the media that Alom and Shakib might be interrogated for the sake of investigation.
