Update : 31 Mar 2023, 11:34 AM

Two more metro rail stations — Shewrapara and Uttara South — under the first phase of MRT-6 were inaugurated on Friday.

The stations were open to the public from 8am on Friday and the metro rails started stopping at these stations from 8:30am.

With the opening, commuters will enjoy the metro rail ride using all nine stations from Uttara to Agargaon.

Besides, metro rail will run for six hours instead of four from April 5.

Currently, metro rail service is available on the route from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The new schedule will be from 8am to 2pm.

On December 28, 2022, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first elevated metro rail, setting a milestone in the country's communication history.

She unveiled the plaque for the 11.73km section of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 of the metro rail project from Diabari to Agargaon in the capital.
