Two students have been expelled from Shahporan dormitory of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) for forcing a student out of his hall room.
Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, the vice chancellor of Sust, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.
The accused, Saddam Hossain and Ashiqur Rahman, both members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), were expelled from the hall after they forced Delowar Hossain student out of room number 239. The student had filed a written complaint to the provost of the dormitory.
Another student named Iftekhar Ahmed Rana was restricted from entering the dormitory for his involvement with the incident. Rana, however, does not belong to Shahporan dormitory.
Provost Dr Md Mizanur Rahman Khan told Dhaka Tribune that he was yet to receive the official order in this regard.
