Just like every year, Charukola is shimmering with people from all over Dhaka and adorned with stunning decorations, as everyone has united to observe one of the grandest Bangla festivals, Pohela Falgun.
The “Boshonto Boron Utshob” started at the Charukola Muktomoncho at Dhaka University at 7am on Tuesday morning.
Like every year, the first phase of the festival began with traditional Bangali music, and ended at around 9am. The second phase of the program is scheduled for the afternoon.
People of all ages were spotted at the event, dressed in vibrant traditional attires, including Sarees and Panjabis, to align with the Pohela Falgun theme, which is symbolized by the color yellow, representing spring.
They were also seen enjoying and captivated by the music, dance acts, and poetry recitals at Charukola.
Tanisha Tarannum, a young woman who participated in the Boshonto Boron Utshob said love and spring represent the same idea.
“Man is a creation of nature, hence our minds is inseparable from nature. No one can ignore the spring season for this reason.”
Meanwhile, the entire Dhaka University campus and the Ekushy Boi Fair premises became busy since Tuesday morning.
Pohela Falgun brings joy, colour, and hope, not only in nature but also in the lives and minds of people of all ages.
Jatiya Boshonto Utshab Udjapan Parishad has been arranging the main programs of the day for around two decades.
