Dhaka University (DU) welcomed the first day of spring in grand fashion with its annual "Boshonto Uthshob 1431," held at the Charukola of the Faculty of Fine Arts on Friday Morning.
The vibrant event of "Pohela Falgun", which coincided with Valentine’s Day, was a display of music, dance, and cultural celebrations.

The festival kicked off with a captivating performance of songs and dances under the banner of “July Obbhyutthan Amar Droha-Bhalobashar Gaaner.” The opening program featured a mix of folk songs alongside music from indigenous communities, setting the tone for the day’s festivities.
The event also showcased traditional dances by the Patshala dancers, who performed vibrant routines to songs inspired by the hills and tea gardens of Bangladesh. The morning was filled with joyful performances, drawing a crowd eager to embrace the arrival of spring.

One of the visitors, excited about the celebration, said to UNB: “I woke up early today to attend the Boshonto Uthshob. Afterward, I’ll head to the book fair to continue celebrating this special day.” Another attendee expressed the significance of the occasion, saying: “Spring is our festival of life. The combination of Pohela Falgun and Valentine’s Day makes this day even more meaningful and enjoyable.”
This year’s Boshonto Uthshob at DU not only marked the beginning of spring but also brought together the campus community and visitors in a vibrant celebration,
