Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the leader of a notorious criminal syndicate called "Gangchil Bahini" and fugitive murder convict in Dhaka on Thursday.
The arrested was Ruhul Amin alias Ledu, 45, a wanted accused in five cases of robbery.
RAB-4 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the matter to BSS on Friday, saying that a team of RAB-4 arrested him in a secret raid in the House Building area of Uttara Purba police station in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
According to RAB, he was also sentenced to life-term imprisonment in the murder case of Bashir Uddin Bosu under Shah Ali Police Station of the capital in 2012.
The RAB official said that legal action has been taken against the arrested and he has been sent to Dhaka court this morning.
