Enthusiastic Dhaka residents are still gathering in front of the metro rail stations in Uttara and Agargaon to enjoy the country's first-ever electric trains.
A long queue for tickets was seen in front of the Agargaon station on Saturday morning.
Among the enthusiastic passengers was Rehena, from Green Road, who said she along with his family members was going to Uttara to have breakfast and experience the metro rail journey.
She also said: “Our long-cherished dream, the metro rail, has finally been launched. That is why I came to travel by metro rail with my family. After standing in line for a long time to enter the station, I bought the tickets and now I am going to make my trip. It is not possible to explain this experience as I am feeling ecstatic.”
Another was Hasan Zubair who came from Wari to experience riding the metro rail.
A passenger named Saikat jokingly said he was going to Uttara from Mirpur to check which neighbourhood was colder.
“When the metro starts operating in full swing, I will be able to board it from in front of my house. I am waiting for that. But before that, I have to see how it feels,” he said.
