There will be no reduced fare for students using the Dhaka Metro Rail, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Managing Director MAN Siddique said on Tuesday.
He said this when journalists at a press conference at the Agargaon station asked him whether students would enjoy a 50% discount, as they do on public buses.
Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader was also present at the conference.

According to Siddique, those who purchase MRT Pass Cards will receive a 10% discount on fares.
According to him, individuals with special needs will receive a 15% discount for a single trip while freedom fighters with injuries will get free rides.
Siddique also stated that children under three feet accompanied by parents will not need tickets.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially open the Dhaka Metro Rail on Wednesday morning.
