RAB is conducting an operation to arrest the two militants and those involved in the case of abducting the two death row convicts in front of a Dhaka court.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB law and media wing, said this in a video message from the RAB headquarters on Monday.
He said that all units of the force, including detectives, are working to arrest the two convicts sentenced to death.
“Yesterday (Sunday), two top militants who were sentenced to death escaped from the court premises. Based on this information, RAB collected information from the court premises and other places, CCTV footage and various other data and are reviewing those,” he added.
The escapees are Md Abu Siddique Sohel alias Sakib alias Sajid alias Shahab and Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Samir alias Sifat alias Imran.
They are members of the banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam, who were sentenced to death in Jagriti Publications publisher Faisal Arefin Dipon murder case.
