TV show host and Islamic scholar Maulana Sheikh Nurul Islam Faruqi was murdered by extremists, including a Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) member known as "Jamai Faruque," due to ideological differences.
The information was revealed in a charge sheet submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
However, "Jamai Faruque" and five other suspects were excluded from the charge sheet as investigators failed to obtain their complete addresses during the probe.
Investigation Officer KM Abul Kashem, an additional special superintendent of CID, filed the charge sheet against six suspects at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on November 5.
The details of the charge sheet emerged on Monday after The Daily Star obtained a copy of the document.
