Law enforcers cannot avoid their responsibility behind the recent incident of two militants escaping from a Dhaka court, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Legal and Media Wing Director Khandaker Al Moin has said.
“RAB is working with various law enforcing units, including National Security Intelligence (NSI), to arrest these fugitive militants,” he said while responding to questions at a press conference held at RAB's media centre in Dhaka on Monday.
A Dhaka court on Thursday placed 10 members of Ansar-al-Islam, accused in the case filed over the incident, on a five-day fresh remand.
So far, a total of six police officers have been suspended over the incident as well.
On November 20, two members of the banned militant outfit Ansar-al Islam Abu Siddique Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, who were sentenced to death in publisher Faisal Arefin Dipon's murder case, were whisked away by their associates by beating police and spraying some chemicals on their eyes at Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate court arena.
