Info secretary Mokbul Hossain sent on compulsory retirement

Mokbul Hossain was supposed to retire from service on October 25, 2023

Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Mokbul Hossain has been sent to retirement one year before the end of his government service. 

The Ministry of Public Administration issued an order signed by Public Administration Ministry Senior Secretary, KM Ali Azam in this regard on Sunday.

According to the notification, Mokbul Hossain retired from government service in the public interest in accordance with Section 45 of the "Government Employment Act, 2018”. 

Mokbul Hossain was supposed to retire from service on October 25, 2023.

As per the Section 45 of the Act, the Government may, at any time after the completion of twenty five years of service of a public servant, retire him from service without assigning any reason, if deemed necessary in the public interest. Provided that in cases where the president is the appointing authority, the approval of the president shall be taken.

On May 31, 2021.  Mokbul Hossain began working for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. 

He was previously employed by the Department of Joint Venture Companies and Firms as a registrar.

Mokbul Hossain, a 10th batch officer of BCS administration cadre, also served as additional secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. 

Besides, he served as Assistant Commissioner in Field Administration, Assistant Commissioner (Land), First Class Magistrate, Upazila Executive Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Director of Environment Department and Member of National Housing Authority (Land and Property Management).
