Nine police officers sent into compulsory retirement

All hold the rank of ASP

The government has sent nine police officers, all holding the rank of assistant superintendent of police (ASP), into compulsory retirement simultaneously.

On Sunday, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued nine separate gazette notifications, signed by Senior Secretary Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen, in accordance with the president's directives.

The police officers sent into compulsory retirement are MR Shawkat Anwar Islam, assistant police commissioner of BMP; Md Selim Hossain, ASP of CID; Md Enayet Hossain, ASP of SSF; Md Mizanur Rahman, ASP of RAB; Md Matiur Rahman, ASP of APBn; Md Nasir Uddin Bhuiyan, ASP of RAB; Md Jamal Uddin, ASP of RAB; Zobairul Haque, ASP of APBn; and Md Mosharraf Hossain, ASP of Industrial Police.

The notification said that the officers were retired from service in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No 57 of 2018).

They will be entitled to retirement benefits as per the rules.
