A Dhaka University (DU) student was found dead at Jagannath Hall on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Amit Sarkar, 25, Bacchu Mia , Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost Inspector Bacchu Mia confirmed.
He was a final year Master's student at Dhaka Unuveristy's Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, was in room 4011 of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University.
Rajib, friend of the deceased, said: “On Monday around 2am, Amit fell asleep like every day after studying. Friends kept calling him after seeing him sleeping till 10:30am on Tuesday. But we get no response. Later, some people took Amit to the emergency department of DMCH. The on-duty doctor declared him dead at 11:45am after the examination.”
Md Bachchu Mia said the dead body has been kept in the hospital morgue .The cause of death is still unknown.
