At least 14 people were injured after a bus fell from a bridge at Satkania upazila on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway on Monday afternoon.
The accident took place at around 1pm in the Nayakhal Temuhani area of the upazila, said Satkania Fire Service Senior Station Officer SM Humayun.
The injured are Al Amin, 21, Halima Begum, 16, Sharmin Akhtar, 25, Muhammad Zayad, 5, Ekram, 32, Muhammad Nasir Uddin, 27, Muhammad Abdullah, 12, Muhammad Sarwar Kamal, 35, Abul Hashem, 45, Jasmine Akhtar, 35, Farida Akhtar, 17, Mahmuda Khatun, 60, and Hasan Noor, 18.
SM Humayun said a bus of Hanif Paribahan lost control and fell from the bridge on its way from Chittagong to Cox's Bazar.
He mentioned that, upon information, they went to the spot and rescued the 14 injured people.
“They were taken to a nearby upazila hospital. However, the injured are not in critical condition. The bus has been rescued,” Humayun added.
