Thakurgaon UP poll: Awami League candidates win 3 out of 3

Unofficial results were published on Wednesday night

Awami League candidates won three out of three Union Parishad elections in Thakurgaon’s Ranisankail upazila.

Noor-e-Alam, election officer of Ranisankail upazila also the returning officer of three unions, announced the unofficial result on Wednesday night.

Awami League candidate Md Motiur Rahman unofficially won in Hossingaon UP elections. He got 4,392 votes while his closest opponent Nasir Uddin, an independent candidate,  bagged 4,078 votes.

Competing with Boat symbol, Jitendra Nath Barman won the Bachor UP election with 8,764 votes while another Awami League candidate Abdul Bari won the Nanduar UP election.

Earlier on Wednesday, the voting of these three unions started through EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) at 8am and ended at 4pm.

The total number of voters of the three unions is 61,148 people.
