As it is the 70th anniversary of the Language Movement, a total 70 pieces of calligraphy artwork are on display at the exhibition.

Arham ul Haque Chowdhury said he chose Bangla proverbs as the theme for the exhibition, as they offer insights into the country’s culture and history.

"I had planned to do this exhibition two years ago, but I finally got the chance this year.  This year's theme was calligraphy, and I used proverbs since I believe they are very powerful. They are capable of easily conveying messages. As an anthropology student, heritage and ancient myths are always interesting to me," he added.

The exhibition, which is the 18th by Arham ul Haque Chowdhury, is titled "Borne Benjjona (Layouts in Letters)". Each of the pieces on display is a Bangla phrase or proverb that has been artistically represented.

The artist organized the first-ever solo exhibition of Bangla calligraphy at the Goethe Institute in the year 2000. He has also organized exhibitions featuring scrap metal sculptures, sculpted fountains, works in natural dye, furniture, and bonsai at venues such as the Bengal Gallery, British Council British high commissioner's residence, Drik Gallery, and the Gulshan Society Lake Park.
