Rainfall may increase after three days

Update : 07 Oct 2022, 12:19 PM

Rain is likely to drench most parts of Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, the weather office said on Friday morning.

Light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, with moderately heavy falls at isolated places across the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said in its weather bulletin.

The low-pressure area over west-central Bay and the adjoining Andhra coast now lies over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas, said the BMD.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged during this period.

After 72 hours rainfall activity may increase, the BMD added.

The axis of monsoon trough is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
