Bus fares for 13 routes across Padma Bridge fixed

The bridge will be opened for vehicular movements on June 26

Update : 09 Jun 2022, 04:50 PM

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has fixed bus fares for 13 routes in the south-western part of the country.

The buses will run on the much-anticipated Padma Bridge after its inauguration on June 25.

The information was revealed in a notification signed by BRTA Director (Engineering) Sitangshu Biswas on Tuesday.

The BRTA authorities increased the long-route bus fares on these 13 routes between Tk10 and Tk11 taking the toll rate for using Padma Bridge into consideration.

The Padma Bridge will be opened to traffic on June 26, a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurates the bridge on June 25.

The new fare will be effective from that day.

However, the concerned authorities say that if the government starts imposing tolls for the use of Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway, the bus fare may increase again.
