A special tribunal on Wednesday set May 11 to start recording the deposition of the prosecution witnesses against Islamist orator Rafiqul Islam Madani, popularly known as “Shishu Bokta”, and Mahmudul Hasan alias Murtaza in a case filed under Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge As-Shams Jaglul Hossain adjourned the hearing till May 11, as no prosecution witnesses appeared before the tribunal to testify.
The tribunal on February 22 in 2022, framed charges in the case.
The investigating officer of the case and Detective Branch (DB) police inspector Rezaul Karim filed the charge sheet against the duo on October 21, 2021.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on April 8, 2021, arrested Rafiqul from his house in Netrokona and filed a case under Digital Security Act with Gaccha Police Station.
Another case under DSA was filed against Rafiqul with Gazipur's Bason police station.
A person named Md Adnan Shanto filed this DSA case against Rafiqul and Murtaza with the capital's Motijheel police station.
