Farmers can now get technical solutions to tackling plant diseases, insects and weed related problems, get tips on increasing crop yield, new generation farming techniques among others, from their Facebook page on a regular basis.
Farmers can also interact and get individual solutions from their Facebook page through an assistant who is guided by a group of agriculturists.
Hundreds of farmers inquire and seek solutions in many different ways on the page every day, added the statement.
Abdur Rahman, general manager of Marketing of Crop Care unit, said: “Diseases and insects can be very detrimental for crops and within a night it can damage acres of land, so thinking about its time sensitiveness we thought we should come up with solutions that farmers can be benefitted from instantly and Digital is the way to go.
“So, we have a separate team who are working day and night to serve farmers with the right solutions at the right time.”
Researchers believe if more entities come forward to offer such digital solutions then very soon we all may witness a “silent technological revolution” in our agriculture sector, the statement said.
