A plan has been taken to arrange a ten-day special program from March 17 to March 26, marking the birth centenary celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The National Implementation Committee (NIC) for the centenary celebration made the announcement at a virtual meeting on Monday, said a press release.
The theme of the program will be “Eternal Bangabandhu.”
Prof Rafiqul Islam, chairman of the committee, presided over the meeting while Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, chief coordinator of the committee, moderated it.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the committee to air the programs on TV channels and online for avoiding public gatherings due to Covid-19.
The 10-day program will include discussions, cultural programs, audio-visual content, and other presentations.
Among others, former minister AMA Muhith, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, State Minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Youth and Sports M Jahid Ahsan Rusell and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam were present at the meeting.
