After a brief pause taken to support and cooperate with the government directives and to aid in minimizing the spread of Covid-19, British Council has resumed conducting computer-delivered IELTS and paper-based IELTS.
A press release was issued in this regard by the organization on Sunday.
Stating how British Council is ensuring safety measures in their test centres, Zunayed Aahmed, director operations examinations of the organization, said: “With the resumption, we are ensuring the safety and hygiene measures that are recommended by the Bangladesh government as well as our global standards.
“Our test-takers are informed beforehand regarding the precautions that they need to maintain, such as signing a document confirming their health issues, wearing a mask that covers an individual’s mouth and nose and the temperature checking mechanism, that are available at the all our centres.”
“All centres are meticulously sanitized before every test and all our staffs and examiners wear protective gears during the tests as well,” he added.
During the interim period when the tests were cancelled, test takers could still access the free online materials, preparation videos and resources on tips regarding IELTS essential skills and expert advices on the four segments of IELTS, which for preparation, said the release.
Extended support was also provided for free transfer and deferrals. Test takers can still access exclusive preparation materials and the aforementioned benefits when they book for their IELTS with the British Council, added the release.
Since venue capacity might reduce due to an added layer of social distancing measure, British Council will offer IELTS tests with more test dates per month to meet demand. The organization is now resuming tests in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet and soon will be resuming in Khulna, Comilla, and Rajshahi, phase by phase, said the release.
