Coronavirus claimed its first victim in Dhallywood; producer Mozammel Haque passed away at the age of 55 on Monday at 11.00pm.
He fought with the deadly virus to his last breath at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He was buried at his ancestral home in Gazipur yesterday.
His death has shaken the film industry to its core. President of Bangladesh Film Producers-Distributors Association said to Bangla Tribune: “He was a prominent member of our Association. We have seen the irreparable damage caused by the virus from a distance up until this day. But now, one of our own is gone.”
“We pray that his soul rests in eternal peace,” he added.
Mozammel Haque was the producer of Shakib Khan starrer Rangbaaz and Panku Jamai. He also produced popular films like ‘Mon Bose Na Porar Table e’ and ‘Raja Babu 420’.
