Dhaka Tribune hosted the first episode of the DT Spotlight Webinar series titled ‘Eid Business in Corona Pandemic’ on Friday.
The webinar discussed several issues including an overview of the businesses in different sectors and industries during the Covid-19 pandemic ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, usually the peak time for sales.
However, this year, the situation was different as there has been a closure for days to minimize the spread of the virus.
The webinar participants talked about the measures taken by the businesses to maintain safety for producers, sellers, and customers during this crisis.
The discussants focused on how Eid shopping has adopted a new trend amid the lockdown as many customers opted for online shopping. Consequently, the order and delivery system also experienced some changes.
Experts in footwear, retail, fashion, clothing, and e-commerce industries, the participants came up with recommendations for small businesses on adopting new trends during this unprecedented situation.
Rajan Pillai, CEO of Apex Footwear Limited, Shaheen Khan, CEO of Meena Bazar and MeenaClick, Shehryar Burney, Executive Director of Yellow, and Shomi Kaiser, President of e-CAB participated in the discussion.
