The tendency of travelling to villages from cities ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr may worsen the Covid-19 situation in the country, says Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader.
He made the remarks on Saturday while speaking at a videoconference from Awami League central office at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Avenue, reports UNB.
Quader, also the ruling Awami League General Secretary, urged the people to avoid gatherings at shopping malls, ferry terminals and other places.
“Violating health directives might bring further damage to yourself and others and if it continues, we’ll have to wait further for deliverance from this disaster,” he added.
Quader also urged his Awami League activists to list homeless people and provide them with aid before Eid.
He also warned against any kind of irregularities in aid efforts.
