Various cold-related diseases affected 4,349 people across Bangladesh in 24 hours –between Thursday and Friday.
Data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room, collected on Friday, showed that 920 of the patients received treatment for acute respiratory infection, BSS reported.
Another 2,103 were treated for diarrhoea and 1,326 for other diseases, including jaundice, inflammation in the eye, skin diseases and fever, BSS quoted a press statement.
A total of 57 deaths were reported across the country between November 1 and January 30 due to the cold-related diseases.
Meanwhile, around 16 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics across Bangladesh, according to the DGHS.
Among them, 13 patients are being treated in Dhaka division and three others were hospitalized outside Dhaka, said a statement from the DGHS control room on Friday.
A total of 199 patients were admitted to the different hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. Of them, 183 patients have returned home after recovery, the DGHS said.
Besides, two new dengue patients was hospitalized in the last 24 hours, as of Friday evening.
