Rapid Action Battalion Intelligence Chief Lt Col Abul Kalam Azad, who was critically injured in a bomb blast in Sylhet on Saturday night, has been brought back to Bangladesh from Singapore on Wednesday.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan told the Dhaka Tribune that the move was in accordance with the advice of physicians from Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
He returned to the country through an ambulance airbus that left Singapore around 8pm, and was admitted to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.
"His treatment will be continued at the Combined Military Hospital," Mufti said.

On March 25, while law enforcers were engaged in conducting a raid on a suspected militant hideout in Shibbari, Sylhet, two bomb attacks took place down the street from the militant den.
The second blast, which came slightly after the first, injured various RAB and police personnel who had gone to the area to investigate the first explosion.
"Azad was severely injured during the second bomb blast," Mufti said.
Azad and the other injured were immediately rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet city.
Dr Antar Dwip Nandi of Osmani Medical College Hospital said Azad’s condition was "critical" when he was admitted.
"He had grenade splinters in various parts of his body. After several surgeries, the doctors here sent him to Dhaka," he said.
Later, he was transferred to Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital via helicopter. Physicians there said Azad’s head and an artery were the most affected by the grenade splinters.
The RAB intelligence chief was flown to Singapore for further treatment on Sunday.
