He made the remark in a business meeting with Chinese delegations on Sunday at the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) office. The discussion titled “China-Bangladesh Business Meeting” was jointly organised by FBCCI and Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation (CPSSC).
Kazi also said: “We are working towards taking Bangladesh-China relations to new heights. We are working on the business and investment climate so that the foreign investors, especially the investors from China, can do business in Bangladesh with ease and comfort.”
He further added: “Bangladesh and China have shared aspirations. Those who are working in this country know Bangladesh is the friendliest country of the world. We hope China will remain our biggest partner in pursuit of making our goals a reality.”
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang said: “As the world economy is slowing down, Bangladesh's economy is growing which creates a lot of opportunities for investors from abroad.”
Working together to fulfill dreams of both countries is easier than working alone, Mingqiang added.
FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad welcomed Chinese enterprises “to invest and build Economic and Industrial Zones” while presiding over the meeting.
He also highlighted on the scope of investment in metallurgy, resource processing, equipment manufacturing, light industry, electronics and textiles, semiconductors and nanotechnology, and industry clusters in the country.
Dr Emdadul Haque, additional secretary and executive member of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), gave a presentation on investment opportunities in Economic Zones.
