Hiron, also a BNP joint convener of district (south), was held near Gouripur Upazila Parishad while he was returning home Wednesday night.
Gouripur OC Delwar Ahmed said he was arrested in an arson case filed with Purbadhala Police Station.
He has been handed over to Mymensingh DB police, Delwar added.
